Thank you for completing the story! This little CYOA story is a writing exercise for my fiction project, Sun thief. You have just experienced the simplified backstory of the king of dark! The CYOA form of this backstory is noncanon, due to its branching paths, but this is more or less how it goes unless I largely change it in the future.
