STEAM BACKLOG - WIZARD WITH A GUN
Simultaneously an underwhelming and overwhelming experience with little interesting gameplay. Cult of the lamb-style expeditions that go out into procedurally generated "dungeons" where you get all your resources for your home base. The game throws every system at you rather quickly, leaving you with a bunch of research/upgrade/crafting stations and no idea what to actually do with them or what you need them for necessarily.
Instead of some sort of research tree where you unlock new crafting stations as you gain experience or whatever, you have to painstakingly slowly use an item to scan objects in the dungeons that you can then craft and place down in your hub.
All world lore is provided to you via unreasonably long walls of text, it does not really inspire the player to spend time reading things- especially when you just want to first get to experience and get immersed in the gameplay and the book keeps whining at you to read its entries by obnoxiously highlighting the item in your hotbar.
Probably better in multiplayer mode where you can at least keep yourself entertained with a friend.
