The boy, The mole, the fox, and the horse
I've been meaning to watch this little movie for a while, and I finally got around to it. And its... bad. It's a series of disconnected feel-good quotes that appear to have nothing to do with one another and barely anything to do with the scene at hand. They often came out of left field and just didn't feel at home at all.
The art and animation is absolutely gorgeous, I'll give it that. The voice acting is lovely and fun but... Man. People praise this far and wide and all it is is a series of loose sentences that have little to do with one another. No story, no depth, nothing. I thought that the clips I saw of the movie were highlights- not basically the entire movie. It really makes all those clips hit a lot less harder, because now that I know there is NOTHING that actually leads up to them to deserve that kind of "payoff".... Why would I care? Why do they make such a big deal out of it?
Even if this WAS aimed at just children (the author of the book stated it was aimed for all ages, and all ages does NOT mean "children and vaguely enjoyable to adults"), it'd be insulting to their ability to understand stories and plots.
Kind of wish I had just left my knowledge of this film to the separate videos alone.
